WEBJan 24, 2021 · The newer engine does not appear to operate with a throttle cable. Hoping if I post a few pics ,someone can explain what I may need to do here. I could get to the throttle linkage with the old cable if the black box wast in the way.

WEBJul 25, 2014 · It consist of some linkage, that is spring-loaded one direction, BUT it allows for some additional movement, when the governor shaft is a MAX throttle, but your OEM throttle linkage is still pushing on the shaft.

WEBJul 5, 2013 · First thing would be to check the filters; fuel flow quantity; then fuel quality; then air leaking into the pick up side of the pump. Fuel pressure would be next. I would also check to see if you throttle is pushing all the way to full high idle.

WEBApr 7, 2023 · I saw on another forum that someone suggested a broken "throttle breakover spring" could cause surging. I haven't investigated that possibility yet.

WEBFeb 4, 2021 · Same thing with my Ford toter, that came with a NA, too much effort to hang in a 6, so been at it with the CAT V-8 for 20 years now. In reality you can get excellent life out of a CAT 3208 if it's built correctly.

WEBSep 19, 2008 · NOTE: If you try any of these carb cleaner suggestions, you need to move linkages/throttle lever/shutoff lever around while cleaner is in those areas to allow cleaner to get into the problem areas. Using carb cleaner is a CAT procedure when they had problems with gummed up REMAN fuel injection pumps about 10 years ago.
