WEBFeb 12, 2015 · Our stove weighs in at 585#. We got the stove strapped to an appliance dolly first, then moving it with wheels was pretty easy. I had 3 other men to help me. We lifted it up to the hearth pad fairly quickly. However, if you can remove weight ahead of time like xman23 mentioned that's a good idea.
Am I overthinking this wood stove install in my pole barn?
WEBDec 15, 2014 · I am installing a small wood stove in my pole barn and I just had a new metal roof installed. My gut is saying that I don't want to cut a hole in that new roof for the stove. Here's some more info. The interior wall height is 13'. The side of the barn where I want to install the stove has a 15' overhang where the roof line is extended over it.

WEBOct 30, 2021 · We got braided gasket @ stove cement, waiting for stovetop fan & ghermometer. My husband also welds so can make better grate, etc…. We’re going for MORE airtight (and we do use the dampner). If you use good, hot burning wood, this baby’ll get pretty hot. The flue dampner works very well IF you don’t have “smoky wood”.

If, however, the stove is being pushed for a lot of heat to move the house temp up 10-15º then yes, the burntime will be much shorter. It takes a lot of heat to warm up all the mass of a house ...
