Cutting Duravent PelletVent pipe to use with an adjustable length
WEBJul 16, 2020 · I'm going to have to use an adjustable pipe I'm guessing. I noticed PelletVent doesn't come in 48" lengths. I was wondering if I could cut a 60 " pipe instead of using 2 - 24" pipes. The adjustable pipe is going to be sliding on the end. It seems like it would be one less joint and look better.

Took off the left sheet metal panel and discovered that where the Simpson adapter slid onto the NPS40 flue exit, a rivet in the construction of the Simpson adapter was allowing a leak. With the panel off I was able to seal this small area properly. This action cured the problem.

WEBJan 8, 2016 · Pre-drill and use stainless steel self drilling screws. The screws will go through the both layers of stove pipe and through the adaptor, 1" should do. The stove top adaptor almost always fits poorly. Most do, not just duravent. Often times the female end of the double wall fits the flue collar better than the adaptor.
