Launch of STFC.Space | LCARS Replacement now in Alpha - Reddit
WEBJul 14, 2021 · Big week in STFC! @everyone is saddened by LCARS 2.0 shutting down, but, good news! Ripper's project, STFC.Space is now out in it's Alpha stage and provides a web format to what LCARS provided. While it still needs more pieces to fill it in, it provides a lot of the information users were already pulling from tools like LCARS!

WEBSep 1, 2020 · Putting that aside, though, I don't see LCARS as a usable UI at all. It's designed to "look cool and futuristic" from a distance, and not functional up close. Most people that try to make LCARS functional in real life have to make decisions that wouldn't be seen on the show.

WEBTraditionally though, LCARS has always shown a bunch of “number greebles” just to decorate the display and make it look busier, so I thought I oughta include them somehow. On the custom icons, every single number is a T9-encoded reference to the app it points to, e.g. “687” on “FREQ” is derived from “MUS” (for “Music”).

Here was my last big LCARS project building consoles for Artemis Bridge Simulator. edit: Inkscape was used to design the LCARS for both projects and the watchface is being built in Zepp Watchface Maker for the Amazfit T-Rex Pro at 360x360px
