WEBMay 1, 2023 — Also, “under god” was added in 1954 because of the Red Scare (you know “godless communism” 🙄). It DIDN’T have the phrase for longer than it has had it. We can eliminate it just as easily as when we added it. Besides, a “pledge of allegiance” is a little creepy anyway. Other countries do not have this, at all.

(Just looking at the title of the thread I assumed it had to be Texas, and I am pleasantly un-surprised.) In Texas, yes. When I moved to Michigan from Texas I was very surprised that Michigan d idn't do it.

I moved to Texas. Within the first 10 minutes of the first class the morning announcements come on. I listen to the principal introduce the new year and such.
