Really disappointing and an absolute rip off! Seeing Hadrians Wall was great and you don't need to pay to see it! £12 per adult to get into the Fort, just a pile of stones and a little write up and p… Full review by Rhona S
Yes. Well, back in April 2019 one could. Honestly, the free walk along the wall is better than the fort anyway, and on that free walk everyone brings their dogs.
Can you get to the wall to see and photo the wall without paying the entrance fee? We are not interested in going inside to see exhibits.

Hi sand glike, you can certainly get to some of the wall, but to get to the central area where the wall parts and shapes where rooms and houses were, you will have to pay and go through the museum to get to the back , although you can just walk it from gilsland and see the wall on the main road from the roman fort entrance,, I recommend you go in lots to see and know good luck
