It was amazing and spectacular, but I wouldn't have been in the car with anyone but my husband driving because there were no guard rails and used our brakes until they were smoking.

It's too late for your trip, I'm sure, but in case anyone else has the same question ... There's a fairly large parking lot with free parking at the trailhead in Shelter Cove. It's a better option …

It's too late for your trip, I'm sure, but in case anyone else has the same question ... There's a fairly large parking lot with free parking at the trailhead in Shelter Cove. It's a better option than Hidden Valley, which has a small parking area and would require walking or hitching up the busy and narrow Shelter Cove Road.
