Hi, as far as I remember there is no bus from Kuching to the village. We had a hire car for our 5 day stay which we picked up at the airport. The other option for you is to go on a tour, which picks up at the major hotels, but we found them to be expensive. As for the pre booking, wouldn’t say it was necessary if you are planning a visit in the “off season”, please be aware we thought it was well worth the visit, but a little expensive Hope this helps?
