I had a ticket for 3pm but they let me in earlier. Not sure if it works in reverse.

I purchased our tickets, audio tour and secured time slot online several weeks before arriving in Paris. We planned our tour for first thing in the morning and the museum was very busy by noon. I think that because of how we planned our visit, we got there before any line formed for entry.
