The main attraction about the Hauptmarkt is the general impression of the square with the reconstructed historic facades and the views on the cathedral, the Porta Nigra, St Gangolf church as you walk around it . In that sense, the sights (like the Steipe, the Red House, the Market Cross, the gate to St. Gangolf church, the Market Fountain, the Jewish Gate, the Lion's Pharmacy, the Hauptwache ...) are always 'open'.
