Swimming through the wadi and jumping off rocks was amazing. You cross the river in 2 minutes, then it's all swimming, with a couple shallow bits. A short swim takes you to the cave, which is amazi… Full review by rexe470

Yes, easily. The "hike" itself is not very difficult. There will be spots where it may be slippery, but overall a child could do it. It is 45 minutes walking for an adult to the waterholes, however, so it's more about how long your kids are happy to walk for. There are no facilities at the waterhole either. When i visited there were people with kids under 10.

Sorry I have no idea but last resort, you can cross the river by foot if the water isn't too high. Be careful though. I've seen a group of 4 students doing it. They walked towards the end of the quay and crossed from there. They were maybe 1m75, 85 high and had water up to their upper waist. They had to carry their bags on their head to avoid for them to be wet though. As I say, last resort if there's no boat. However Ramadan doesn't mean people don't or can't work so the boat should be there.

I am trying to remember if I have been here last year...because I was not able to walk the trail...I remember a cliff on the right side of the river that one can walk under. But there were huge rocks to climb over and it looked dangerous, on the way further...Also, there was a place I was supposed to cross over the river, by walking on stones. I stopped there because I was afraid. Is this the way to Wadi Shab?

The rocks in the river are very slippery. But the water is quite shallow, you can even walk in most areas of the river till you reach the end where the fall is. I went there at midday and the sun was unbearable but maybe if you visit after midday you might have more shadow as I did on my way back which was so much more bearable. Good luck.
