We had some adults who deal with motion sickness in our group. The roads are pretty good but very curvy in some spots. They found that if you focus on the floorboard and keep the air going they were fine. It wasn’t bad the entire way. The trip up to timberline from the main road is pretty short too, so that helps.

The actual mountain? It is a long day trip from Hood River. There is a great ranger site south of the town that gives lots of info. There are not many places to eat sobpack food and drinks. It is very much a make your own fun place, hiking and walking. Timberline Lodge is a must but gets very busy for lunch. We were stunned by the scenery but we are old fogeys, not sure how long a 9 year old can sit and coo st scenery, no matter howcamazing
