You read a lot of scary stuff about this road. I can honestly say the pass up near Plockton in Scotland is a MILLION times more scary and difficult to drive. This road is better than most of the UK r… Full review by Madamenibs

This is a winding mountain pass connecting Ouarzazate and Marrakech. The highest point is 2,260 m high above the sea level. There are a few places where one can enjoy the view of the hairpin curves. Full review by TravelMario64

Yes, there are some small towns with small restaurants. Not too much though, but you should be able to find a few stopping points. I think it's a heavily touristed route between Marrakech and the desert . It is slow going because there is a LOT of construction along the way. I don't think we averaged much more than 50km per hour.

Hi Sheryl, I agree with the others, the view is great no matter which direction you go in. I went from the SE desert area to the NE to Marrakech which in spring was verdant green. In this direction the drive seemed a gradual climb up the southern flank of the Atlas Mts and then a steep descent down the NE flank towards Marrakech. What was amazing was the change in landscape from verdant green (in spring) to dry desert, with oases and casbahs. There were road works on the SE side near the summit of the road so be careful of trucks and road machinery.
