Officials are forecasting weather with moderate risk levels to continue this week for Southern California’s coastal and inland regions. The National Weather Service predicts that large seas and high surf with chances for strong rip currents and minor coastal flooding will continue through Friday for Los Angeles,

Three people were rescued from the wharf. The powerful surf also fatally trapped a man under debris on a beach in Santa Cruz, the authorities said.

Waves showed up at the novelty surf spot, platform Esther off Seal Beach. Surf this week is expert only, so it’s best to stay on shore.
