Akshay Shinde, who was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing two four-year-old girls in Badlapur, was killed in an alleged shoot-out with police this week.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis condemned the glorification of the Badlapur encounter but defended the legitimacy of the police action.

Akshay Shinde was killed in an exchange of fire inside a police vehicle when he was being taken to Badlapur from Taloja jail on Monday evening

Devendra Fadnavis emphasized that such incidents should not be celebrated, stating that while he doesn’t support 'fake encounters,' the law should dictate appropriate punishment.
