Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson was subject to waivers on Monday, and he has been claimed by an AFC playoff team. According to a report, Johnson is going to the Houston Texans.

Baltimore Ravens waive wide receiver Diontae Johnson ahead of their Week 16 clash against his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Ravens waived Johnson on Friday, ending his drama-filled seven weeks with the team. The Ravens suspended him for one game after he refused to play in a Dec. 1 game against the Philadelphia Eagles and then he was excused from team activities last week.

Johnson and the Ravens initially agreed to excuse him from team activities this week. Johnson was suspended for last week’s victory over the New York Giants for conduct detrimental to the team. Johnson’s suspension stemmed from refusing to enter Baltimore’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

One of the reasons the Ravens could be keeping Johnson on the roster is to receive a compensatory pick in the 2026 draft. If Johnson is on the Ravens by the end of the season and signs with another team in the offseason, the Ravens will receive the compensatory pick. If he’s cut before the final game, the Ravens will not receive a draft pick.
