Taoiseach Simon Harris met US President Joe Biden for over an hour in the Oval Office last night with the war in the Middle East dominating the agenda. Mr Harris said that he left the meeting “confident” that Mr Biden’s phone call with Taoiseach Simon Harris said he left his meeting with US President “confident” that Joe Biden’s conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday could “turn out to be one of real substance”.

Taoiseach Simon Harris has said that he made Ireland’s position on the Middle East conflict ‘very clear’ when he met US President Joe Biden. Mr Biden hosted Mr Harris at the Oval Office for just under an hour on Wednesday,

Mr Biden has visited Ireland a number of times and has regularly spoken about his Irish roots in Louth and Mayo
