U.S. forces had a limited role in repelling Iran’s ballistic missile attack on Israel, which officials called ineffective but a “significant escalation.”

The White House, the Pentagon and the State Department are all slated to hold briefings this afternoon, following news that Iran launched missiles at Tel Aviv, Israel.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre gave remarks to the press Tuesday afternoon, as Iran began launching missiles toward Israel following the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon over the weekend.
