With over a month left until Sonic the Hedgehog 3's release, the film's length compared to past entries in the franchise has been revealed.

Shadow the Hedgehog is one of the most iconic characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He was introduced in Sonic Adventure 2 (2001) as an “anti-hero” counterpart to Sonic, created by Dr. Gerald Robotnik, the grandfather of Jim Carrey 's character.

The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise does weird things with its own canon. While it's not fair to describe every entry as a reboot, a lot of the games feel as if they choose to ignore the previous entries.
