A Notre Dame goal by Michael Mastrodomenico at 7:59 re-tied the game before Stramel's quick response on a tipped shot in front gave MSU the lead for good. Junior forward Karsen Dorwart then scored his first of the season when he jumped on a loose puck in the slot and fired a shot past Say at 9:43 to give MSU a 5-3 lead after two periods.
