The Casey’s at 2740 Fauna Road near Interstate 35 is among nine new EV charging sites as part of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula program, which is working to add direct current fast-charging stations across Kansas. Emporia’s Flying J was approved for a new station back in January.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources will be installing 40 chargers at state parks, historic sites, museums and other widely used public areas.

The state of Kansas continues to beef up the electric vehicle charging infrastructure by continuing to add more charging stations. Governor Laura Kelly announced another $6.8 million investment to add nine additional fast-charging stations throughout the state.

Gov. Laura Kelly on Tuesday announced that more than $6.8 million in federal funds will be directed to nine new locations selected for the state’s National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula program.

The charging stations will be along U.S. Highway 400 and Interstates 35 and 135: Earlier this year, $4.6 million was provided for six other Kansas locations: The locations were selected through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula program.
