A man was critically injured in a shooting in Chicago's North Center neighborhood Monday morning. Just before 9 a.m., police said a 74-year-old man got out of his vehicle, in the 2000 block of West Berteau Avenue,

Around 9 a.m., the man exited his vehicle in the 2000 block of West Berteau Avenue when two gunmen opened fire, striking him in the left arm and grazing him in the neck, Chicago police said.

A retired Chicago police officer was critically wounded in a North Center shooting Monday morning. WGN's Courtney Spinelli reports outside Masonic Medical Center with the latest developments.

The victim, 74, was getting out of his vehicle at Lincoln and Berteau when two suspects began shooting in his direction, police said. He sustained a gunshot wound to his left arm, and a bullet grazed his neck.
