There were two groups of people celebrating Virginia Tech’s Hail-Mary win that quickly became Miami’s Hail-Mario win Friday night. There was the group that, like Miami quarterback Cam Ward, also felt “pain” that the Hurricanes left this game to be decided by referees and replay.

Cam Ward found Isaiah Horton with a 1-yard touchdown pass with 1:57 left for what became the winning score, and No. 7 Miami rallied to beat Virginia Tech 38-34 in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both teams on Friday night.

From the ACC on the final play of Miami-Virginia Tech: "During the review process of the last play… it was determined that the loose ball was touched by a Miami player while he was out of bounds which makes it an incomplete pass and immediately ends the play."
