Apr 19, 2007 · The Westsail 42 (center cockpit) and 43 (aft cockpit) are designed by Crealock and don't have the bluff bow of the 32. Westsail 32's have won 1st in their class in ocean races such as the transpac, Newport-Bermuda and most recently Anigua classic. It's a great boat.

Bob Perry designed the Westsail 38/39 which is a very good sailing boat. there is one for sale in Ventura ,Ca if you want to sail oceans buy it before it is gone. they only made a few.

Dec 31, 2012 · The Westsail 32 never was a slow boat. It is only a slow “accelerating” boat. ( I may lose 0ne boat length per tack during a race against more modern boats) It takes 3 things to sail well in very light airs: 1) Some knowledge of what to do. 2) The right equipment for that boat. 3) A willingness to do it.
