I typically keep the battery charged from 30-80%, rarely going below 20% or above 90%. He said that will maximize battery life, but not maximize range. To do that you have to "cycle" the battery to use most of its range.

I let the car sit overnight unplugged at 10% charge. The next morning I set the charge limit to 100% and started charging. The charging stopped at 93%. Drove the car for a couple of weeks and repeated the process.

Mar 25, 2017 · If air is 110F then battery might be 120F (without supercharging). 120F is fine for battery chemistry Tesla uses. Not ok (in long term) for chemistry Nissan uses. Keeping state of charge at/below 80% in this case makes thing even better. Like on the screenshot in the first post, system will try to keep battery at/below 52C (125F)

Aug 12, 2016 · Far as recalibrating the Battery Management System, drain it below 10% and recharge to at least 90% a few times and if the range doesn't return, it is a "batterygate" issue where it is deliberately capped lower than it was before. You will likely find your supercharging speeds dramatically cut some are reporting 70kw the new cap down from 120kw.
Battery thermal management - does it work when car is unplugged?
Jul 1, 2012 · Does anyone know whether the battery thermal management system will kick in, while the car is parked and unplugged? I am guessing not, as it would mean running the A/C system without plugged in for extended period of time. Here in AZ, the road surface temp can hit 120F+, even my garage hits 110F at night.

The battery is kept cool during charging though as that generates a lot of heat.
