I am pleased to see the Ferrari 575 - they did a special edition car last year - that didn't appeal to me enough to spend the extra $$ for so I am looking forwards to buying the 575 this year. There are lots of other cars that look like they will be great looking cars.

Also the smallest corner radius is equivalent to a R2 in scalextric. As for digital, the carrera lane changers seems also better (because they are longer) and have both straight and curved ones.

Some time ago I entered a Carrera Porsche 917/30 in a Can Am proxy series and it finished 8th overall out of a grid of 17 cars but it took a fair bit of work to get it to go that well with an almost standard chassis. It wasn't digital and was running without magnets.

First you can do a test to see if the motor is working, just touch the motor terminals to the terminals of a 9 volt battery. If the motor runs there is probably an open circuit between the guide flag and the motor.
