It's a pain in the butt and I think that, plus the fact that the games themselves don't do anything you didn't see on Sega CD from a gameplay perspective, were enough to kill it.

Apr 12, 2019 · 32X games were way cheaper than Super FX games. Grabbing my December 1994 issue of EGM and looking at the ads in the back, brand new 32X games (they were all new at that time) were going for $49.99 while recent Super FX games at the time, like Stunt Race FX, were going for $79.99.

Dec 9, 2023 · Yeah I bought the real hardware a few years ago, the doom port is interesting with bad sound and resolution, MK2, and NBA Jam seem like decent ports. There is some games that make use of the Mega CD and 32x, but I dont have mega CD. In the end I dont think getting the real hardware is worth it, a clone device/emulator would have been just as good.

Apr 12, 2019 · Regardless, you'd have to either have the ability for Genesis video to pass through the Sega CD (for it to combine the two, 32X style), or you'd need a 32X-like passthrough cable, to make that work. On another note, I find it interesting how the Sega CD's audio output jacks do output all system audio, including 32X audio.

Feb 4, 2022 · Snatcher was my absolute favorite experience on that platform, the Lunar games (the Sega CD Silver Star intro is incredible and not in the otherwise superior PS1 version, both versions are different enough to warrant playthroughs imo although the Sega CD one will obviously be a bit more dated in some areas), Popful Mail, Shining Force CD ...
