WEBMar 13, 2010 · That plasma most likely needs 60amps @ 220v single phase to be used at full capacity. The manual does suggest a 100amp fuse, and 4g wire. Usually a machine this size is hardwired with flex to a disconnect on the wall nearby. The cord connectors are kind of expensive, and rubber cord for 100A circuits isn't light.

WEBDec 12, 2008 · I have 200 amp service into my home shop, but could prolly get by with 100 amp. I run a miller 251 on a 50 amp breaker, a monster plasma on a 40 amp breaker, lights totaling about 20 amps, and outlets, etc... I doubt i will ever run my welder at 50 amps, or any of the other equipment at its rated amerage breaker.

WEBOct 16, 2011 · Planning out my electrical before I buy a unit but havent been able to find a plug that can fit the bill. So far I have collected a 25' 4/4 SOOW cable for $80 at a surplus center. It did come with a awesome 100 AMP plug but the other end cost $150 dollars on ebay. The nerd in me thinks its worth picking up the other end just to see peoples faces.

WEBFeb 9, 2008 · I went with a #2 ACWU cable (aluminum, direct burial, armoured). It was $5/m at the time. I got a good price because its a VERY common size for 100A service in concrete high-rise construction. For a subfeed it was only good for 95A less de-rating for distance. Still makes for a cheap ~80-90A sub.

WEBDec 3, 2004 · Alternator Upgrade For Early 22R's. I did this mod on my 82 Pick-up and it works great! The early 22R's pre 84.5's run the 40 Amp externally regulated alternators. While the 85+ 22R's have the 60 Amp internally regulated alternators. Comparison photo, the early model alt is considerably larger.

GM 94 amp alternators are only slightly larger than the stock Toyota alternator and its super easy to make a couple brackets to bolt one up in the stock location--no welding required. Some simple wiring and you have a 94 amp alternator for around $70 with a lifetime Kragens warrantee!

WEBNov 22, 2015 · The most common gauge that can handle the high amp alternators is made by Auto Meter in the Cobalt series 6390. They are about $250 but do not break into the big line which is perfect for racers. The big wire just passes through a ring. I have seen others in the past and all are expensive.
