Jun 29, 2022 · The same case happens to me. I have a 2014 macmini and a 2015 macbook, I’m trying to use the TB3 to TB2 adapter and the egpu dock won’t turn on, it’s always in standby mode. A curiosity is when I connect the TB3/TB2 adapter a red light turns on, but when I connect the T4 cable, this light does not turn on.

Jun 1, 2022 · Sometimes the eGPU stays on consuming ~25W indefinitely. So there is certainly some firmware tweaking that needs to be done. Booting up with the Lenovo dock and EGPU attached gets everything working great. hot plugging without having previously booted up with both the Lenovo and eGPU attached is a crap shoot.

Oct 23, 2023 · @peroksid, thank you for posting about this new TZT TB3 eGPU dock. Quick glance review of TZT TB3 eGPU: Pros. low price; small form factor similar to EXP GDC TH3P4G3; Cons. The pci-e slot is integrated on the wrong side of the board (or at least the wrong way round). As a result, when you want to put it upright with a large gpu, it falls backwards.
